Pricing added for services

I had several people ask me what I charge for a portrait shoot. They thought it would be good to see this up front on my web site, so today I completed the update to "My Services" page which now shows the cost for the services I provide.

Photo prices updated.

On November 4th I finished updating my photo prices. I reviewed numerous pro and semi-pro photographers prices from their SmugMug web pages and I made my adjustments to be more in line with their prices. I also purchased a program called Photo Price which helps photographers figure out what they need to charge for their photos and services. I found their prices a bit high but again I made the adjustments as to not overcharge anyone. I believe in being as honest and fair as possible with my viewers. I would like to thank everyone so far who has purchased one of my photos.

My personal reviews

Today I completed my reviews on my camera equipment. I gave my personal opinions on each piece of equipment that I own and they can be viewed under the "My Equipment" tab on my web site.

Markham Arts Photo Contest

I almost forgot this past Tuesday I went to the Markham Theatre to accept my winning prizes. I got the best in show with one photo and another win with another. Combined I received a great hard cover book from the Markham Art Gallery called "Automatiste" and also from Aperture Digital Lab in Markham coupons for 30-8"x10" prints and 80-5"x7" prints. I better get out there and start shooting more pictures. A big thank you to the Markham Arts Council and all their sponsors.

I bit the bullet

Oct 31 I picked up my new lens from Henry's today, the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM. I took numerous test shots and it performed just like the reviews said. I'm looking forward to getting out and testing it on different situations and lighting conditions.

I ordered this lens from Henry's today to try out. It should be in either this Friday or next Thursday. This lens is top rated by wedding photographers. It's a very fast and sharp lens and works especially well in low light situations. I'm looking forward to experimenting with it. Luckily it's $150 off right now.
